I listed the Easter Doily on Etsy!

It has been a crazy week, but I finally got the pattern finished and the photography done. After a final check of the pattern this morning, I added it to my Etsy shop.

One down, 4 to go (pattern sets that I am working on, that is.)

And I talked to my friend Connie who is the buyer for the AA catalog yesterday; I am going to do two new shawls/wraps for the catalog. Whew!

The finished doily turned out even prettier than I imagined it would be. I love it, but I am glad it is finished.

New Thread!

I realized that I was almost out of my favorite green thread, America's Best, #55 Lt. Green, from Elmore Pisgah. I use it in everything! It is one of the main colors in the potholder set I am working on, and it is also used in the pineapple doily set.
I ordered 6 balls, and they arrived quickly. It is almost like Christmas to me when I get new thread; what a crochet geek I am! But now at least, I won't be held up on any of my projects; I hate waiting for thread!

ICE!

It is COLD, but fortunately, we did not get as much ice as we had feared we would. It is mostly just on the trees, like this poor little oak tree in the side yard. David lost a calf last night even though it and it's mother were protected in the barn; this cold is hard on the new babies. The cows are not used to weather this cold.
The ice is really beautiful, but I am glad I don't have to get out in it.
I would rather stay in and work on my crochet! I added a bow to the Easter basket.

Dreaming of Springtime

We have an ice storm headed our way tonight. I went to Walmart this morning and stocked up on groceries. David has been preparing the barn all day for bad weather.
But I am working on the pattern for this Easter basket and eggs doily set, and it makes me long for spring!
The basket and eggs can be made separately and used as wall decor/ decorative potholders, and the back ground can be used separately a candlemat doily.
I had planned to have it done by the first of the year; now if I have it done by Feb. 1 I will be happy.

Does anyone speak Turkish?

Last week I noticed that Etsy is offering web analytics, so you can see how many people are visiting your site, where they come from, how long they stay, etc. So of course, being the high-tech-savvy woman I am, I signed right up. Etsy made it pretty easy, but I still haven't figured out how to do it for this blog!
Anyway, when I looked at my results for the week, I saw I had a bunch of visitors coming from this site:

Which, to the best of my guessing abilities, is a site somewhere in Turkey. It is a cute blog about handmade stuff (judging from the pictures.) She has a picture of my fairy doily and swan, with the heading "dantel pano ve sekerlik." What on earth does that mean? I have no clue what is being said about my babies (yes, I am very protective of my designs). What if it is something like "Look what this silly American is trying to sell on Etsy! Can you believe it?"
My curiosity is getting the best of me. So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

I can't believe it has been two weeks since I posted!

I have been super busy trying to get two pattern books ready to publish (Butterflies and Roses Pineapple Doilies and Grandmama's Favorite Potholders and Hot Pads), as well as keeping up with orders from Annie's Attic and my Etsy shop.

But adding a bright touch to a hectic week, here are Autumn and Jasee with their afghans and hats I made them.

Robert and Anna's afghans

I finished afghans for my grandson Robert and granddaughter Anna in time to send them to them for Christmas.
I think she likes it! This is the afghan I was working on in Galveston.
Robert's is made from Homespun, in a (sc, ch 1) pattern stitch, so it is warm but not heavy.
Don't I have incredibly good looking grandchildren?
