Easter Butterflies

Last Sunday, members of Nancy Y's church got a special welcome as they arrived for  Easter service. Nancy has been busy crocheting colorful butterflies to decorate the entry of the church.
She then stiffened them, and a friend's husband attached fishing line to hang them from the ceiling.
They look so delicate and lacy, floating gently in the breeze!

Nancy plans to make even more butterflies to decorate the sanctuary for next Easter.
What a lovely way to share your talent, Nancy! I am sure your congregation appreciates all your hard work!

Blogger is not letting me add pictures of the other items for some reason, but I am also giving away copies of the Butterflies and Roses Pineapple Doilies Ebook (which contains the Easter Cross Doily), the Spring Time Bouquet and the Easter Bonnet Sachet.  You can see the other designs here:

New Designs

I have added three new pattern sets to BellaCrochet.com.
The Ruffles and Lace Eyelet Foundation Accessories.

The Monkey Business Hats, which come in four sizes.

This set includes both the hats and a matching back pack.
The Monkey On My Back Pack.

The Trendy Crochet Head Bands and Trims.

The Sophie Head Band. This is the gift pattern that comes with the purchase of the Eyelet Accessories or the Trendy Head Bands.
You can see more pictures of these designs, and all of my other designs at http://www.bellacrochet.com/

These sets were fun to work on, but I am glad to be back to designing with thread. I have a couple of new doilies which I hope to have ready in about a month.

Facebook Contest

I am having a contest right now over on the BellaCrochet Facebook page. I will be giving one person a copy of the Butterflies and Roses Pineapple Doilies ebook. I will select the winner at random and send out the pattern Saturday morning.
To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment answering the question on this post:
Don't worry, it is not a trick question or anything. The question is, "Do you like to read and if so, who is your favorite author?"
UPDATE: This contest is now closed! The winner was announced and the prize was sent out on 4/11/11. Thanks!

I hope you will stop by and enter!

Spring Time Designs

Spring time is here at last, and Easter and Mother's Day are right around the corner. Here are a few of my favorite spring-themed designs. All of them are available at http://bellacrochet.com/
The Flower Garden Fairy; this is one of my all time favorite designs, and the first of the Lovely Ladies Doilies.
The Enchanting Easter Basket Doily. One of my first dimensional doilies.

The Basket and Eggs can be used separately as wall art.

The Spring Time Tea Cup Bouquet. Many people have told me they made this as a Mother's Day gift.

The Easter Bonnet Sachet. This is the gift pattern that comes with the purchase of the Springtime Tea Cup Bouquet.

I hope you are enjoying  a lovely Spring, filled with sunshine, flowers and pretty crochet!

An Exciting New Crochet Technique!

I am so excited to tell you about a new crochet technique I have developed. I think it is revolutionary! The wonderful thing about it is that you use TWO crochet hooks instead of just one, and the really amazing thing is that you work with the straight end of the hooks, instead of the hook end.

I am setting aside all my other designing projects in order to concentrate on this new technique. While I do not think it will ever be as popular as regular crochet, I think that with a little work,  it might catch on.

Oh, and the most important thing you need to know about this technique:

April Fool!
